The Philadelphia Chapter of FMS is proud to be entering our 71st year. The Philadelphia Chapter was the recipient of the Chapter Excellence Award at the FMS National Forum in June. We recognize and understand the challenges our membership has faced, and are optimistic as things begin to normalize after this past year. Our priorities remain to provide excellent in person educational and networking opportunities to our members including the Holiday Party at The Sheraton Valley Forge and the 2022 All Day Seminar. We will continue to be committed to charitable work and to providing scholarships to deserving students. FMS National members have access to a variety of specialized education, information, and networking opportunities. As CFOs, Controllers, Treasurers, and other Finance & Accounting professionals from community banks, thrifts, credit unions, investment banks and service providers nationwide, you can benefit from these resources. In order to take advantage of these resources, you can sign up or renew your FMS National membership at fmsinc.org/join.

 

One of our goals is to continue to expand our membership, by deepening our existing membership as well as adding new members. While we are optimistic of our businesses and communities opening back up, we are still seeing many vendors and institutions curtail spending. As a result, we would like to extend, as we did last year, our membership benefits to one individual within your organization complimentary for the 2021-2022 membership year. This individual must be a new member. Existing members are not eligible for a complimentary membership. Please contact the FMS President, Chris Carroll.

 

Our year will start with the FMS & IFI Annual Golf Outing, to be held on Monday, August 9, 2021 at the Chester Valley Golf Club. FHLB will be hosting a breakfast meeting during the morning. The outing will be similar to last year with lunch and dinner served outside, but we will have a shotgun start for the round of golf. We will provide additional information in a separate communication about the specifics of the outing.

 

We are grateful that so many of you continued your support of the chapter during last year’s virtual lunch and learns. We are excited to be returning to in-person events as of October.

As your new Philadelphia Chapter President, I have the privilege of working with a great group of Officers and a committed Board of Directors. We are committed to providing you with meaningful networking and educational events each and every month. We encourage you to extend the complimentary FMS membership invitation to your colleagues, so that they too can share in the benefits of membership in FMS.
